This GivingTuesday, help us build a home for opportunity in rural Uganda!
A place to gather. A place to learn. A place to grow.
What if a building could be more than a building? What if it could be a place where farmers gather, young people learn, entrepreneurs develop new skills, communities come together, and opportunities take root? That's what we're building in rural Uganda. WorldHope Corps is in the process of constructing a new facility center to lend itself to the exchange of knowledge and skill development opportunities that will strengthen businesses, and foster cross-sector local and regional relationships.
The site will include:
☕ A home for the Source of the Nile Shalom Coffee Cooperative
The headquarters will give small-scale organic coffee farmers a permanent place to meet, organize, learn, and strengthen their cooperative.
🌱 Space for training and capacity building
The facility will host trainings and workshops focused on community capacity, economic development, entrepreneurship, and other practical skills.
🤝 A community hub
The space will be available for community meetings, events, gatherings, and other activities that bring people together.
💧 A well for community benefit and income generation
A community well will provide a reliable source of water while also creating an opportunity for income generation to help support the sustainability of the project.
🏠 Four rental apartments
Four apartment units will provide housing for professionals working nearby, which ongoing rental income will offset facility operating and maintenance costs.
We're building for today—and for tomorrow. This isn't simply a construction project, but an infrastructure investment that will support people, programs, and economic opportunity for years to come.
The building is the foundation. The people and opportunities that grow within it are the purpose.
